Very cool phone [Link: engadget.com]doesnt seem to have ir shame as would have been nice to make it a remote control too

That thing is cool looking Bob. The only thing that worries me about those is, no cover for the screen, so how do you carry it in your pocket?

I agree but as with mobile phones in the UK The current fashion is that they have gone away from the clam shell design (which i prefer)and to the slide type phones that have an exposed screen,The materials they use are far more scratch resistant than they used to be but i agree it does worry me too.

That's why I went with the Razr this time. It's still thin enough for your pocket, but the screen is protected. I love the looks of that iPhone, but I don't know how practical it would be for me.

Definitely one cool phone. However I'll hold off, Apple's after market support, particularly batteries and damaged screens for the iPod range leaves a lot to be desired.
Also I am not sure if a touch-screen is on a phone is a good idea. I can see some issues with that!
