The highest i have been up is to the top platform on 600 Burke Street in Melbourne which is 250m above the street as a building but have been up to nearly 400m on a tower
Would love to go up onto the roof of this place at 300m
the highest I have been was http://www.promoclub737.com/ The club is situted in the top floors of PVM, in the summer it has an outdoor terrace on either side (the PVM tower is shaped as a cross for most of its height above ground and after that point the centre continues upwards for a 2-3 floors (one of which is a restaurant)
here is a view from above
the lower left and upper right branches of the X are the outdoor terrace
if you ever make it to Montreal in the summer I would definitely recommend going there just for the view of the city
I believe the highest I've been is the CN tower in Toronto. It is taller than the Empire State Building and Sears Tower, right? Also it's taller than the former WTC I think.
Now, I've never climbed any of those buildings. :-)
I'll have to say that the first time I was in the CN tower I thought the "glass floor" was neat. But what I'd really like to see is this, the new glass walkout in the Grand Canyon, as described in Popular Science.

yes, it is the tallest free standing man made structure (after the CN tower was built building was redefined and limited to a man made structure that has floors and is designed for residential, business, or manufacturing purposes, 5that way tallest building went back to SEARS Tower)
and yes that is cool, I saw a show about it some time ago that discussed the engineering of it
You'll have to take me pictures from and of it if you do go. I don't forsee myself being there for a few years but I definitely won't miss this!
One of things you just have to see. Pictures do not do it justice.
Last summer we went to the North rim and had lunch on the deck. Then we grabbed a beer and sat on some benches at the end. Man I tell you, life is sweet.
