HDMI is one cable that does it all (for the UK guys a bit like SCART) No receiver today can handle DTHD or DTS HD (or even DD+). If you go BD or HD DVD I hope the new lossless audio will take place. Even though I buy toys too often. I always think long term when I buy. No one knows what those new receivers will cost. But in my opinion why buy something for a tech that might be obsolete in a few years.

Anyone use an Oppo DVD player with their system? I am sick of the poor pq from the cheapo philips DVD player we have.
