Look at who we have had for the last 7 years. He has been pretty popular and does have a pretty stong base. It is still pretty early though...

I saw this guy on TV give the keynote address for the Dems last convention. Dynamic speaker and covered many conservative issues like self reliance, repsonsibilty, investment etc. I liked him. I'm a Glenn Beck conservative. I'm so sick of Hannity trashing anyone he even slightly disagrees with. Friggin' broken record.

Anything that can keep that ridiculous Clinton out of office is fine by me.

Never underestimate the lack of intelligence of the American voter. "Say Charles, look at this young black fellow. He doesn't have much experience in politics, has no foreign policy experience, has no real ideas of his own, but he did get someone to ghost write a book about himself. He'll be a disaster running our country, but he has such a nice personality. Let's show the world we can vote for a black person to prove we don't have any racial predjudices, and if anyone challenges his credentials, we'll just label them as race-biased republicans!"

What this country really needs is a benevolent dictator, and send all the senators and congressmen down to Guantanimo to live with the other terrorists.

It was over a year ago i suggested this guy might be a contender... seems he is doing quite well at the moment having won the Iowa caucuses but not knowing (or understanding)the system properly i believe there is a very long way to go with this process and that it wont be till after the 5th of feb till we know the results.
Do you guys still think Big money will not support him?

Still a long way to go. The Iowa Caucuses are some of the most important, or at least hyped, primaries.

He's probably one of the top two presidential canidates. Between Obama and Hillary Clinton, who suprisingly was beat by Edwards in the caucuses. Hillary has more support in the northeast though.

It's going to end up being either Obama or Clinton. The Republican race is getting interesting too (Huckabee and Romney), but they don't stand a chance.

Hillary Clinton is portrayed as a hard nosed win at all costs lady by our media that what i see over here (maybe djy can say other wise)

what i do know is the U.K. media have been surreptitiously been showing Obama in a positive light. This leads me to think this is who "they" want.

we can only give feed back from the information we are given hence i ask these questions to get a more balanced perspective on our world

Hillary is one of my senators (New York). I do have to say I like what she's done for our region (Western New York).

Where i live the area is has always been and ever shall be a labour strong hold.

I don't feel in all the time i lived here that they have done anything that the other parties wouldn't have.

Its good that you feel that some politician has done some positive work in your area.

I see spending of our taxes on stupid window dressing like block paving(when there was a perfectly food pavement before) and murals by our twinned French town. stupid sign posts etc etc . yet drug dealers freely trade on the lovely town square etc etc

our councillors in the UK in my area IMHO are rubbish and that's all off them no matter what party.

Broadly speaking I would say that's just about right, but my rag of choice is the Telegraph not the Guardian or Independent.



Speak as one finds I say. I'm pleased for you, I only wish I could say the same for our local incumbent.

To say he's a complete waste of space would be an insult to said waste of space. By my reckoning, in the 10 years he's represented Hereford in Parliament he has done absoulutley sweet F.A. for the area. All he is, apparently, good for is getting his photograph taken, a bit like those clichéd polititians one sees in Hollywood films. Indeed, it is said he would attend the opening on an envelope so long as a camera was present.



Frankly, I am sickened by main stream politics in this country. The contempt the unelected Prime Minister showed for the electorate, by putting his name to that European Treaty (the not quite constitution), is merely icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

And as for local councillors, my feelings are as one with Bob.
