Seeing as Survivor never quite worked, I've got a new game. I'll call it RC MVP, short for Remote Central's Most Valuable Poster, although it's just a title and completely irrelevant to the game.

What happens is I have a list of 16 names, paired in two's. Each pair is one matchup. Everyday we vote one person from each matchup to proceed to the next round. After there are eight left, I'll re-match them, and we'll vote one so that there are now four. You get the picture...just like NHL playoffs.

The deadline for voting is 7:00 PM EST (It's 5:30 EST now.) We vote on one each day. After 8 days, we proceed to round two.

Round 1

Damik
roddymcg

pilgram
goodnf

Marky_Mark896
Jay In Chicago

Mr. Griffiths
oex

OTAHD
Oz AVI

Jazzbo
The Robman

Anthony
edmund

GregoriusM
djy

So, you have until 7 PM EST tomorrow to vote for either Damik or roddymcg.

Couple of rule clarifications please.

Can one vote for one self? After all I'm conceited enough to do so.
I am presuming one vote per person (login)

Yes, one can vote for oneself.

Anybody can vote. They don't have to be competing. They can vote once per matchup.

I vote for Damik...just because Roddy is a Leafs fan (so at least he appears to be) and I'm still getting over that loss.

Does Damik also vote for Damik?

Get the votes in!

shouldn't it be 1/team? if everyone votes Damik (only one to have a vote so far) how do the other couples go down

I think I get what you mean. We only vote Damik/Roddy until 7 PM tomorrow. Then we start voting either pilgram or goodnf for 24 hours.

Clarification: Each pair has one day that they are voted upon.

Yep, I'm big-headed enough to do so

That makes 2-0 in favor of Damik. Still 21 hours left in this matchup, so things could change fairly quickly though.

I think it'd be cool if there were some kind of prize. I'm open to suggestions.

not what I meant, but that would work.

the issue was (for example) what if 10 people voted 9 vote Damik (since he voted for himself)

1 voted for someone in a different group (let's say Anthony for the sake of argument)

Damik is kicked out and Anthony is kicked out but how would you eliminate someone from pilgram, goodnf ? to get to the next level.

your new idea answers the questions

Mr. Griffiths, I'll say a bit of both sounds moderate, maybe ruining your chances, but really, anybody can vote based on whatever they want. It's not supposed to be for any specific posts, but whatever influences your vote at all.

Right now 3-1 in favor of Damik. Roddy needs at least 2 votes in the next 15 minutes to tie (that'd be interesting) and 3 to win.
