No little green remote, or little green men, or anything. The little circle next to each favorite, and each link in my browser window, and next to the address line, all look more like a "@" than anything else.

I don't even have it on the address bar.

IE isn't very reliable with favicons. You can try clearing your cache or re-bookmarking Remote Central. It seems the issue is that the icon is stored in a temporary cache which is purged after a while, deleting the icon.

Whoo-hoo! Daniel: cool new icon for the Remote Central bookmark! You just watch, listen, and work away, don'tcha?!

BTW, gang, if you "rename" the shortcut to RemoteCentral, that seems to upset IE, and causes the icon to vanish. Mine is always shortened to simply "Remote Central". Since I did that previously, now that Daniel has added the new icon, I'm "permanently" set.

In fact, DANIEL: Maybe you would consider changing the shortcut message from "Welcome..." or whatever it says to just "Remote Central". No one cares about messages after the first visit; they just want the name of the place. And that would do away with the "vanishing icon" prob, too. ... Mike

Daniel: you're pretty good with 8 x 8. Now, since my icon has vanished again... ... Mike

IE is very annoying with those icons; there's nothing I can do from this end to make 'em last. You can try, in the address bar, dragging the "e" from beside http://... over to somewhere else in the same address bar (causes it to refresh). But even that doesn't seem to stick.

This is very odd!!! I have two exact computers -one at work, and one at home. I cleared the cache on the one at work and then noticed that the RC icon came back on the favorites of my computer at home, but not at work. Daniel says this is "annoying" and they may not last. However, I noticed that my Fox news icon is always there, while RC comes and goes.
Anyone.....what's going on here?

Anthony: I' ve been watching the icon for the last 10 minutes, trying to manually change it using the Favorites list, but it is staying as an "e". Daniels' link didn't do anything. ... .Mike
