I just noticed on my "favorites" list an icon for my remote central favorite links. Daniel is really tweaking this site.

It's been there for ages! It is kinda cute, though, eh?!!!

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. On my system at least.

It disappears when you clear your cache. That is where it is stored.

It's been there ever since I put it in my faves. At least 6 weeks.

mason: The cute little thing has disappeared more than once without a cache clear.

And I have other sites that have icons (very few) that do not "leave" after a cache clear.

I think Daniel is just playing with our minds! ;-)

But doesn't EVERYONE love that little "e on the page" icon much better anyway??? :-/

What I'd like is a way to add an RC Forum button to my IE toolbar. Dan? Anyone?

As far as I can see, it's a hit and miss proposition. If you drag the icon to your toolbar, it should show up. But, I get it one out a 100 times. It sticks around after that, though.

Like Greg said, just drag and drop, but use the icon part of the address and not the name

Anthony, please explain. Which icon, and what part do you mean?

1) right click on one of the tool bars and make sure that there is a check mark besides "Links"

2) on the address field (where you type the URL, and it tells you the address you are at) you will notice an icon in front of the URL (here at RC it is a Pronto, most sites will have a blue "e" the symbol of IE.

3) press the right mouse button on the icon (Pronto for RC) beside the name, and keep pressing

4) Drag the mouse to the Links bar, if you are over an existing link, you will see an "o" with a bar (like "not allowed" on traffic signs) and you cannot place it there. If you are between two links, your cursor will look like a short cut (box with an arrow, and you will get a black line where the icon will be inserted.

5) let go of the mouse button.

Again I say, it is a hit and miss proposition. Larry's "Address" area may have the familiar Microsoft "e" in it, like mine does. I haven't seen the RC "little green remote" for a while now. Mind you, it could have something to do with my using IE6. Still, it was hit and miss with 5 and 5.5.

Anthony, I should have mentioned that I'm a Mac user, but I figured it out:

On my Apple toolbar (the very top of the screen), I clicked on Favorites, down came a drop-down menu, where I saw a thing called Toolbar Favorites, where I noticed was listed the buttons (links, i guess) already on the IE window, below the Address line. I released the mouse button while still on the first menu Toolbar Favorites line, and a regular window with the same list, plus the URLs, appeared. Then, I highlighted the URL for the Remote Central forum list, and dragged it into my list window. Poof! All I had to do then was edit the Name to Remote Central, leaving the actual URL column alone. So cool!

Thanx again,
Larry

ROFL!!!

Larry: Did you find the "little green remote".

Who, if any, of you HAVE the "little green remote" on their Favorites list. If you do, then I'm doing something wrong or have something wrong, because it's working with a few other sites.
