hey most of you guys know i sing on karaoke and that i collect karaoke CDG discs.I have over 15,000 karaoke tracks.
In the UK country music isnt a major genre at all, well i noticed one name popping up on the American karaoke discs on a regular basis . George Strait.
I honestly haven't heard any of his songs but after a tiny bit of web searching he is a big artist over in the USA apparently.

Which of his singles was the biggest hit? or which one do you think is the best? or do you too like the UK population dislike most country music?

I am always looking for new songs to sing ,which is the easiest of his songs not to murder?

I, myself am a big country fan. George Strait is one of the largest selling country artists ever. He has many songs to choose from. One other thing, country songs are pretty easy to memorize. Try Lyrics.com.

George is about as country as you can get.

He probably has more hits than anyone in any genre.

Check out 'Fireman'.

It's upbeat and easy to sing.

It you want something with a little more 'Texas drawl' try.....

'All My Ex's Live In Texas'. 'Amarillo By Morning', 'Cowboy Rides Away', or 'She Let Herself Go' all come to mind.

'Cross My Heart' has probably been played at a million weddings if your into that.

Oops! Can't forget 'Easy Come, Easy go' for a good song.

If you wan't to try some 'newer style country' that is actually closer to 'Country boy does the islands' check out Kenny Chesney,s 'The Road and The Radio', 'Summertime', 'Beer in Mexico' (one of my favorites), 'Somebody Take Me Home', 'Living In Fastforward', etc. etc.

Have a good time!

Mike.

I would like to say something nice about country music, but as I hit the off button every time I hear it, I'm afraid I can't.

Amen! I wasn't a real George fan until about 5 years ago, but I've come to love dozens of his songs, and some of the better ones have been mentioned here.
