Ah...yes. And read Daniel's post at the end of the thread
with the first "no longer registered."

Whoops, I had wondered where that post went.

Here it is again:

Possibly that was a consolidated account... where registered person X stops posting for an extended time, comes back a few years later re-registers, then realizes they had an old account and would like its statistics ported to the new account (or vice versa). However that's very rare.

Classic Posts are pre-account system.

See, unlike forums that delete all their messages every time they make any major change, we've got EVERY post here going back to the absolute beginning... and a whole lot has changed since. Even the posts made on the "one page Sony RM-AV2000 Review/Forum" back in 1998 before Remote Central was Remote Central were ported over. :-)

Daniel,
I will be serious for one second. That is why this site is so good , Information in the classic posts can and has saved people time and money,The fact that you give it space and take the time to make sure every thing is present and correct is why so many peolple love this site. I respect your effort and dedication sir!

Thank you.

Much agreed! I have searched through those posts and found answers to questions I have had or info that gets me thinking even more and avoids further problems down the line.

A truly invaluable (and perhaps unique) resource. It's just a shame that some don't appear to have the wit to use it.

made me laugh ,very true! i have found this on many forums that people dont use the Search function.
The search function of this site is spot on but other sites just dont cut the mustard,I guess thats why people dont seem to use it,either that or as you hint stupidity or laziness.

I wanted to search for stupidity or laziness, but I don't have the motivation. ;-)

There are 18 entries for stupidity and 4 for laziness and 16 for motivation in all forums in the last six months

And what does that prove, nothing really besides the fact that I am procrastinating - 1 entry
