Even better news, a third Bourne film appears to be on the cards.

But the movies weren't nearly as good as the books.

Matter of opinion methinks. Personally I thought they were better.

I liked the first one, not as fond of the second.

The first was excellent. The second was pretty good. I'm glad they are making a third, since I like the movies. I have never read the books.

It sure beats some of the sequels they are making for other movies!

The books are okay (typical Robert Ludlam) providing you appreciate the premise behind them (certainly the original) has long been consigned to the annals of history. The films, though having similarities (and obviously using the same main character), are entirely different.

PS
The 1988 "Bourne Identity" TV mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain and Jaclyn Smith, is more in keeping with the original book.

Exactly! That's why I liked the book better.
