I've been using the HPF filter I got from http://www.cableboxfilters.com/ for about two years now and everything is good. I just turned the box in and had no issues. Problem is I'm moving and I'm going to have SAT, anyone know of anything that can give me the PPV's or anything like that for SAT since I don't have digital cable anymore?

Any help would be appreciated.

"This is the filter that is in high demand because of it's ability to allow the user free Pay-Per-View movies and Pay-Per-View channels with the purchases never showing up on the bill. If you purchase this filter, it is your responsibility to use it legally.

*This High Pass Cable Filter is meant for use on digital RF products, if attached, it is able to block the PPV signal that is sent to the cable company for billing. You will receive the purchased PPV movie without the cable company knowing, therefore, it is your job to alert them of all movies/events ordered. Check with local & state laws before using this product.*"

Err, this may be a silly question, but are there any other advantages that these things offer?

Check with state laws?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

PPV movies are called PAY Per View because you're supposed to pay for them!!!

Show me a state law that lets you buy a legal filtering device to get the PPV programs and not have to pay for them!

I HATE piracy!!!

And that quote is just bologna that tries to protect the maker of the device. "You will receive the purchased PPV movie without the cable company knowing, therefore, it is your job to alert them of all movies/events ordered."

Get serious, people! Why would you want to go to the trouble of informing the cable company when you just went to the trouble of not having it done automatically???!!!

Unless I'm missing something, this is piracy, pure and simple.

Wait......... I'll restate that......... It's theft...... stealing...... larceny.....!!!

Let someone steal your CDs, your car, your gadgets and see how you would like it.

It is people who use these devices that help drive up the costs of cable programming for those of us who PAY FOR IT!!!

Greg

P.S. Any problems with this post and you can tell me here or check my profile for my email address!!!!

Yup, loud and clear - several degrees higher than a tad miffed :-)

Maybe we should add an extra line to the piracy advert - you wouldn't steal a handbag, you wouldn't steal a movie (from a video store), you wouldn't filter a Pay-Per-View movie, you wouldn't steal a car...downloading is stealing

So what you're saying is, there's no legitimate reason for anyone using one of these things?

For cable, none that I can imagine. Like Greg said, why would someone buy a device that steals the signal when they don't intend to steal it in the first place.

For Sat (but not in this case :) ) there can be semi legitimate reasons. For example it is not illigal for someone in Canda (US) to own a US (Canadian) systeme but it is illigal for the Sat companies to knowingly sell it to you and charge you. (they are bound to the national borders.). Some say since I am legally allowed to own it and you are legally not allowed to charge there is a grey zone in morality.
