The Intermission forum is now using the account-based system as seen in the Philips Pronto and Home Theater Master forums on Remote Central.

Before you can post messages, you will need to create a new account -- registration is free and quick!

This new system will allow you to edit your messages (and the topic if you created the thread), reply to messages with a quote, track your posting statistics, and create a little bit of descriptive text for your public account profile screen. If you desire, cookies can be used to store your name/password for quick posting -- no extra login process is required as you may have seen on other forums.

This system will also ensure that only the original account holder can post under that name.

This is designed to be a larger test of the new forum system. If all goes well, it will be applied to other forums shortly. If you have any questions please be sure to let me know in this thread -- and report bugs or other problems to this address.

Enjoy!

It takes a fair bit to convert each forum over. But the system seems to be working, so they'll all be done in short order.

I still say its a lot of work and effort. I think you should be rewarded.

How does a nice dinner on me sound? You pick the place. :)

Daniel - is the registration from your early trial forum still valid on the main board now? I guess if I can post this without re-registering I'll have my answer ..

.. and the answer is: yep, my existing registration seems to work.
