Cayman Islands

We are looking for suitably qualified individuals who may be interested in relocating to the Cayman Islands to take up a position with House Smart Technologies (www.housesmarttech.com), the position would be suitable for an applicant that has experience as a lead tech/ head installer or similar experience in the custom installation industry.

Cedia certification would be beneficial but not absolutely neccesary so long as references are available and manufacturers training certificates are documented.

We are the authorized dealer for Crestron on Cayman, we are the second biggests dealer in terms of sales volume for Crestron in the Caribbean. We carry a good selection of other mid to high end products that are fairly typical to the industry.

If there is any one with an interest in looking into this opportunity please feel free to drop me an email.

Heh - just talked to my wife about moving there. How do you get around the 7-year limit for your stay?

You don't normally, that is part of the immigration policy for the Cayman Islands.

This excert from www.gov.ky may help explain a little better and the possibilities available.

Seven years is the maximum length of time a work permit holder can work continuously in the Cayman Islands. After this period the board cannot normally grant the person any further work permits until he or she has left the Islands for at least two years. The only exceptions to this would be a worker designated as an 'exempted employee' in a business staffing plan, or where the board considers that there are exceptional circumstances. In such cases the board may, at its discretion, grant additional work permits to enable the person to complete an aggregate period of eight years, thus making him eligible to apply for the grant of permanent residence.

Regards
