Well, the
Grumpy Old Men (well, grumpy old man in the shape of
John Stapleton actually) finally touched upon the vexed subject of remote controls . . .
"The wife paid £200.00 for a multi device thing, then we had to pay someone to show us what to do . . . and I still don't understand it!"
Perhaps I ought to e-mail GMTV (in fact, I just have) and point him in the direction of RemoteCentral.
I love this programme, probably because I'm a closet grump myself . . . Hmmm, pehaps I've just "outed" myself.
For example,
Rick Wakeman;
"All teenagers that wear 'hoodies' ought to be shot."
Don Warrington (soon to be seen in Doctor Who);
"I don't go into the country. It's smelly."
Rory McGrath;
"Digital? What's digital? Something to do with the fingers? I can give you a digital signal." (No prizes for guessing what
that was).
But talking of digital, I'm led to believe that the US is finally getting
DECT telephones. Go for it is all I'd say. We've had
ours (the six pack) for about 12/18 months and I have nothing but praise for them. Brilliant sound quality, a handset not much bigger than a mobile, different ring tones for caller categories (no more hunting the daughter). Bliss, pure bliss.
