Hello,

I have a PSP and someone has released a remote control program for 1.50 firmware PSPs that run off of Pronto Hex codes and can control TVs that are in that format.

I do not have a universal remote to capture any codes so I was wondering if there is a program that operates on IrDA ports on laptops that could capture the signals. If so, can someone please link them to me or tell me their names?

Thanks a lot.

K?

this remote control programme can you just copy the hex for each Remote function then paste the numbers into the programme.
If so you could use pronto edit ,(even though you dont have a pronto)
get the codes from the code section on this site open up and see the hex for the function you require then copy and paste it to the psp programme.

Thanks for the response.

The problem is is that there are no codes for the appliances that I have. I wanted to record the codes myself since there are none on this board.

And the program runs off of rdf files but what I need to be able to do is record the codes itself.

Thank you any ways Mr Griffiths.

The appliances that I want to control is a Fisher Audio System, a Sharp and an RCA television. The LIRC project has files for my Sharp and RCA, but it doesn't currently work with the program which runs LIRC files.

The other program I have runs Pronto rdf files, which is why I wanted to know about getting the codes via IrDA port.

The Pronto does not use rdf, it uses pdf and ccf depending on the model.

oo ok. Either way, it runs off of Pronto codes, since that is what the readme says and also gives the web sites url.

For those who haven't figured it out, I started the "testing" after a newbie posted the word in his first post. It cracked me up, and now I like to use it whenever someone asks a question thAt SHOULD be addressed in a different forum.

So pay no attention to my idiosynchracies. But you're right, David, sometimes I am bored. I miss MrKlaatu.
