I know it was up a few days ago, but man does it look good, you need to DL and see the HD version if you have not. An other excellent job Daniel

Well your reviews and CEDIA/CES movies have ruined it for me. every time I see any other tech info my first thought is always why couldn't Daniel do it, I might actually know something about the product. It is amazing what passes as news and reviews out there.

I'm preplexed, can't see video only sound. Downloaded latest version of WMA, version 10 (I already had V9) but still no video. Any suggestions?
Thanks, /D

Can't think of much - as long as you have the Windows Media Video 9 codec installed it should all work. Could be a codec issue (or an old codec conflicting), or could be a video driver/overlay issue. Also try saving the file to your computer instead of streaming. If you want to try, the separate codec is available from: [Link: microsoft.com]

Sony HDR-FX1, same one as the last CES video but this time I was actually able to edit in HD. :-)

Thanks for the info Daniel. Just recently picked up a Panasonic AG-DVC30 w/XLR breakout box and shotgun mic myself.
For me it was a no-brainer to go with the DVC30, since I don't plan on shooting any HD in the forseeable future (also the fact that anything over $2200.00 was out of my price range and the "financial unit" would have had my head on a plate!).
I've owned a consumer Panny cam which has never failed me plus gave me great video, and uses identical batteries to the DVC30.
I really wanted a VX-2100, but it was JUST out of my price range. I'm still savoring the VX-2100 as a future second cam, but I need to find a creative way to come up with (read - HIDE from the "financial unit"!) the money.
Thanks again for your time Daniel. Always enjoy chatting with someone about one of my hobbies.
John

My previous cam was a top-of-the-line Samsung handheld - that is to say, a very small but also very poor camcorder. :-) I'm extremely pleased at the FX1's performance, especially indoors and at night. It's a big camera, but where I mainly use it (trade shows) anything smaller and you just get shoved aside by the guys with the shoulder mounts.
