I'm a bit confused about something I need to do for IR: connect the IR emitter output on a Xantech connecting block (1/8" mono minijack) through RCAs. My understanding, though it could be wrong, is that the mono minijack actually contains two connections (stereo with three), one of which would be a ground(?). An RCA connection is also mono, but I think that those cables only have one connection, the center pin. Is that right, and would this work? Basically I'm going from a the connecting block to an RCA connector on a wall plate.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

never used Xantech but this pdf [Link: letsautomate.com]

seems to say the tip is + and the other is -
RCA connectors have two connections inside.

I take it the wall plate isn't by Xantech?
Would it work ? havent got a clue.

For more help put down the exact model numers of every thing and post it in Home Theater or custom installers forum

Thanks for the info. The wall plate isn't by Xantech, and I wish they made such plates. If it will work, I'll use the RCA connection, as it would provide better flexibility with what I'm trying to do. I think from what you said, this will work. I guess as long as I'm consistant with the connections, everything should be ok.

This is great, I think that this product will do it. I thought I'd share it if other people have the need at some point: [Link: radioshack.com]
