I just got my pronto, and just realised that that I have another USB cable which looks just like the one for the MP3 player, the digital camera, the mobile phone....
Does anyone know of a good home labling solution in the UK? I have tried using various tapes in the past and they always leave the cable sticky....

Not always, my (old) Archos USB 1.0 cable did not work with a friends slightly later Archos with USB2.0....
Anyway, I always want to label the plugs under the desk as well.. I have 16 items plugged into 3 power strips and I have no idea which one belongs to what!

have no idea what an Archos is, but does the new Archos cable work with your old device?
the point was simply that chances are that you don't need one cable for each device. Can one cable replace hem all? no because there are many different USB standards, there is A, B, mini A, mini B, Camera, not to mention that it could be something proprietary on the other end like cradle for PDA or mouse

or plugging into one of those fm transmitter thingies, and tuning the car stereo to the same frequency. Saves having a car full of cd's
