I am sure a lot of it is elbow grease and that is why they usually take so long to show up. But I am sure Daniel will tell you when he reads this post.

cool.... also would like to know what camera was used for the 05 ces video.

I am helping a friend with a website (they are adding a video section) and I remembered how well the ces videos were done.

Just noticed this. The software is Sony Vegas Video 5, and the camera used in the CES 05 video (which I think looks quite a bit clearer than previous ones) is a Sony HDR-FX1 (HDTV).

The CES 05 video would have been released in HDTV resolutions, except my PC didn't want to cooperate with editing. I'm expecting to be able to release the CEDIA 05 video (which will be shot in a month) in HDTV.

Daniel,

What was your deciding factor when choosing Sony Vegas?

John

...I had tried about six other packages, ranging from giveaways to $100 products to demos of much more expensive ones, and really really hated them. Vegas just felt completely natural to me. And back then it was Sonic Foundry Vegas.

Just curious if you tried any Pinnacle products. And if you did, which ones did you try, and what didn't you like about them.

I'm curious, as video editing is a hobby of mine, and I currently use Pinnacle products.

I know I tried Pinnacle Studio, but that was a couple years ago so I don't remember much. At this stage if I were shopping again I'd probably try Liquid Edition. However I'm quite familar with Vegas' timeline now, so I don't like to fix what ain't broke. :-)

I totally agree. And thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my questions, I do appreciate it.

Thanks again,

John

I thought you guys might be interested in this site

Especially you Daniel... surely you must be considering an upgrade to Vegas 6 with full HDV support? The great thing about these guys is that they have all of the popular packages, tons of training DVDs, and if you give them a call they actually know what the heck they are talking about!
