So - anyone going to see it this weekend? Anyone old enough to have seen the original in theaters? Thoughts on it? I first saw it when I was a little kid and still thought Star Trek special effects were great (very early 80's). I remember being scared watching it... I watched the DVD of the original (technicolor) release recently... and laughed myself silly at how bad it really was. Anyone else want to take this walk down memory lane with me?

Only if we include "Plan 9 From Outer Space".

Hey - at least I didn't take it all the way back to the original radio broadcast that now causes us to constantly be reminded that what we're watching/listening to is FICTICIOUS. ;-)

I would probably have gone and seen it, but since seeing Tom "I'm a freakin' fool" Cruise on his many interviews spouting his Scientology BS, I think I'll skip it or at least wait on the DVD.
It's not just a hobby, it's an obsession...

I'm wrestling with that myself...

Saw it today. Yeah it's scary for Kids but Batman Begins is far more in your face.

It's scarey for kids... but not that good. Personally, I think it'll make a great rental but it's hard to justify the cash for the theater.
