Can anyone tell me where to find error codes for Sony DVD players? I own a Sony DVP-C600 5 disc changer, and whenever I try to play a Video CD 2.0 disc that I burned in Easy Cd Creator, it gives me the error message:

C:13:00

Does anyone know what that means, and why i'm getting that error?

I'm not sure what the official meaning of this error code is, but on my Sony DVP-CX860 400 disc changer it means something like "Can't read disc", and it usually happens when something gets stuck in the mechanics inside the changer.

Are you sure that your Sony changer can actually read CD-Rs? Sony's are not known for playing CD-Rs except for the latest models, but your specific changer might not have their latest CD-R capable drive (I have forgotten their fancy name for this, but it sounds impressive...).

Try to make a music CD copy onto a CD-R and check if the player will play it. If not, then the drive is probably not capable of reading CD-Rs. If it can play a music CD-R, then your problem is probably related to the Video CD 2.0 format somehow.

I recently purchased a new dvd and when played I got your error message. My owner's manual states this message relates to the disk being dirty. The disk was quite clean and free from any scratches. Still the disk did not play.

I got that same error on a brand new copy of Hanibal, during some of the bonus material. I had to pull the power cord to reboot the player.

My sony (530) will only play CDRW's not CDRs, try to burn onto a CDRW and see if it works.

If I understand it correctly, C:13:00 is Sony's 'no disk detected' error. Seems your machine isn't reading the disk that you burned.

C1300 definately is a 'dirty disk' on my DVP S735.

I have had 2 disks that read as dirty and unreadable as soon I opened the packet.

1 was ID4 and I returned iot to the shop and they swapped it over and the new disk worked perfectly.

Hope this helps.

I think the C600 has the same laser as C850 which doesn't support CDR but CDRW. Try copying the content of the CDR to a CDRW and see what happen.

Alot of the Sony DVD Players from the 2000 model year, 360, 560, 850, have had this problem. It is not always a dirty disc, but a defect in the player.
