If your receiver can receive L-PCM, then it will be a major improvement (*identical* to lossless DTS-HD MA).

like Daniel said, it will depend on your settings and equipment. For example:

if you use RCA now then it should be better (lossless) but you are still limited to 2ch (but lossless instead of DTS)

if you are using optical it could either be 5.1 DTS , 5.1 DD or 2 PCM (where now the PCM is lossless to the master) so it would depend what you consider more important and what you used before (i.e. if 5.1 is more important then the best solution is 5.1 DTS and so nothing has changed)

if you are using HDMI then you can have 7.1 (assuming it is on the disk) lossless as PCM instead of 5.1 lossy DTS.
