Just curious who took advantage of the sales to add a BluRay player or a HD-DVD player to their collection? I would have added a BluRay deck if I'd seen one for $200 or better. I did add a second HD-DVD player for the bedroom. They make better DVD players than any old DVD deck I own, and for $99 with free HD-DVD movies it was a no brainer. I already have a large collection of HD-DVD movies.

I'll get a BluRay deck at some point, but am waiting for the price to match up to what I've payed for my HD-DVD decks.

Please no comments about which is best. Share your good news.

One of each. I put an extension on my home which included a HT and put everything on credit card. Well thanks to credit card miles I turned them in for gift cards. And I got a A35 for $15 out of pocket and a Panny BD30 for $85.

already had both units, but i got 6 bluray movies!

Apocolypto
Blood Diamond
Babel
28 Weeks Later
Pathfinder
The Patriot -this is the only one i've watched so far. the PQ was a little sub par in comparison to other BD's i've seen (alot of grain in panoramic scenes etc), but AQ was AWESOME.

I bought Star Trek Season 1 on HD DVD for myself this Christmas. That put my HD DVD total at 100. Time to start working on my second 100.

I picked up a Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-ray and a Samsung BD-UP5000 dual format player this Christmas. I already have a PS3, Samsung BDP1200, Sony BDP-S1, Toshiba HD-A1, HD-XA2, and HD-A2. Do yourselves a favor...do not get the Samsung 1200, and show a lot more restraint than I do.

Gee willicers, that's a whole lotta players!

But I think you need one more HD-DVD player to keep them even. Probably an XBox 360 with addon. :-)

If I did do that, it would be just for the HD playback. That is the only reason I have the PS3. Is there any news about that PS3 IR control solution that was posted in the CI forum? I would very much like to try that thing here in the states.

Soon, very soon... the designer is doing some final programming and hardware tweaking (voltage regulator for the DC-in, plus it will now support multiple discrete IR codesets just in case you have multiple PS3s). I hope to have one to test shortly.
