Just picked up the single disc Transformers movie (from K-Mart). The 5.1 sound as well as picture made it scream bootleg. It's going back.

Anyone else notice this?

Any thoughts?

That's interesting, as I was thinking about the DVD but local reviewers were saying that the region 4 (where I am) transfer was rubbish and sound was average and that region 1 was the version to go for.

From what you are saying I'd be better off not bothering with R1 either, although the reviews of the R2 version are no better. Sounds as though this one is going to be a miss for my collection.
I knew this was a mistake; my grip on reality's not too good at the best of times. Glitz, in "The Ultimate Foe"

I can imagine they won't make any mistakes on the HD-DVD. They've got about everything riding on it.

So far as my kids go, Blue Ray got the death nail when they heard it was only going on HD-DVD.

I have seen and heard Chinese Bootlegs that would put this DVD to shame.

The 5.1 was noisy. It had little to no rear channel, overdriven LFE. Sounded like a crappy PCM. I had to check my player's settings (Denon DVD-1920 w/hdmi)

Some of the scenes were literally draft quality (luminance, chrominance & sharpness). Nothing was clear at all.

Does the 2 disc set feature DTS? Maybe there's a better run?

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

you would, but not someone in their right mind. Many have had issues with that title and it's internet connection. Do a search. Luckily it does not look that it sold as well as some fanboys thought it would.
