OK, I have read the manual online and just had a question on how you are getting to a particular disk. I could not find a way to put in the position of the disk (ie, 124 out of 400) using the remote. I saw some discussions using mx-3000 with this model.
I have HS home automation software using ML interface. I am using DVDlobby to index the movies and want to be able to use IR signals to control the dvds. This is why I am also looking at the 777es model using serial connection but would like to save the difference if I can. I understand the limitations/benefits of serial vs ir but $$ are important if I can get this simple functionality.
I would appreciate any help/input you can give me.

lhaag, Thanks. That was easy. Why does it now show that on the manual? I almost bought the 777 thinking that was the only way I could choose a disk remotely.
Thanks very much syous

Hello all, Completely new to this forum and could use some advice. My DVP-CX995V is not responding to the standard RM-ASP001 remote. Yes, it has new batteries and I'm pretty sure it's transmitting. Suggestions?

Suggestions? Make sure the changer and remote are set to the same command mode. There is a switch on the back of the changer for selecting command modes 1-3. For the remote there is a dipswitch inside the battery compartment.

Regarding this unit, I've recently purchased it and implemented the macro above (thanks to LowPro and Lyndel BTW) and have noticed an anomaly. Has anyone noticed that occasionally, you need 3 display pushes in order for the menu from the DVD player to disappear?

It's a shame that the stop command doesn't work as a work-around for the "Autoplay" issue in the 995V, otherwise I believe the listed steps would resolve the abnormality that you are experiencing. Why not just click?
I just click on the movie image on my movie database and let it all happen automatically. That is if you are using a Sony DVP-CX995V and have a PC in the same room.

So I did the next best thing and tried all three settings in the remote with no results. I appreciate the patience with the newbe. Any other suggestions?

Can you elaborate on your comment about having the pc in the room? How do you have the Sony DVP-CX995V hooked up to the pc?

I control the Sony unit via IR. I use a movie database called Movie Collector to execute a script that "talks" to an universal IR remote control software called IRCommand2. The IRCommand2 sends the proper IR signals to activate and control not only the Sony unit but tv, audio receiver, etc. via a unit called USB UIRT. There is no earthy way to connect a pc to the Sony unit as it lacks of such connectivity. The only external ways to "talk" to the Sony unit is either the keyboard (text entry) port or an IR remote control. Please, send me a PM if you wish to have detailed information.
