All,
I have been thinking about getting a video scaler that would sharpen my dvd viewing. I have a front projector (NEC HT1000) that came with a DCDi Faroudja de-interlacer and a Rotel RDV-995 DVD Player. What I am getting at is this, when I'm at the A/V store the video there is so sharp and clean then when I come home and compare, it is not the same. Something is lacking. I came to think that they are maybe utilizing some kind of scaler hidden in the back. If any of you guys out there with an experience in this subject, please let us know here at remote central.
Thanks,
rga2k4

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"... |

I was looking for a good, if not better, video scaler/processors. It is hard for someone who has never own a scaler before because for one, we have no idea what is or which is better, two, I cannot just fork out two grand, three grand, or four grand. This is a lot of money for something I know very little about or nothing at all. I just know that the video in HT1000 can be improved with a better scaler but which one? I have no idea. That is why I am asking you guys since you are the veteran video gurus in the AV world.

John and All,
What do you think of Focus Enhancements CS-1 video scaler? Most of the reviews were positives.
