I do alot of final hook ups in my work and I was just wondering about some others' input on some kick ass movie scenes to blow the customers away. I really like my job in this sense because I get alot of appreciation in handing them the remote and having a nice scene all cued up and tellin em to hit play. Its even cooler when the wife starts getting into it. I like to carry around a case of dvd's with a selection of tastes. I haven't done much surfing of the web on this subject but I figured I'd ask the pros first. If anyone can suggest some titles / chapters of mind blowing DVD scenes is would be greatly appreciated. I already know matrix and finding nemo so don't bother. I was at a velodyne product training and they handed out a list or movies and corresponding chapters but that was primarily for sub show-offs. I've always found Pixar animated films to have excellent sound (and picture). The final fight scene in The Incredibles is great, as are the parts where the little kid laughs in Monsters Inc, plus the whole introduction to Toy Story 2. Otherwise, I was pretty impressed by Star Wars Episode III this weekend...

I agree. Star Wars III was amazing. I need to buy that ASAP. Thanks for your suggestions but as most of us know, all those animated Disney/ Pixar films look and sound amazing. Which is nice and they make a great presentation but some people want to see real life / flesh tones. Thanks for your comment. - Brian

A good place to check is the Reviews section of any HT magazine. They usually (in exhaustive detail) tell you which chapter of which DVD they use to evaluate TVs, Projectors, Screens, Transports, etc... Some of the classic demo material includes U-571 and The Fifth Element. I've used the scene from The Matrix where they go through the metal detectors with bags of guns as a demo with good results.

Yes, animated films have some great sound. Try the opening sequence of Ice Age. Toy Story is good too.
For non-animated try the car chase scene in Ronin. I also like the T-Rex scene in Jurassic Park and the opening scenes of the Pierce Brosnan James Bond movies.

I always liked 'The world is not enough- James Bond' The boat chase scene you should feel like your getting splashed soaking wet lol
