I searched the web for this brand, and this is a very rare player indeed. I could only find a few Spanish language sites that even referenced it (it appears to be an Argentinian DVD player), so I seriously doubt that you are going to find a universal remote to work this. I have no idea where you'd find an original remote for it either, where did you get the player?

In the JP1 group we have the ability to create just about any sort of IR signal we like, so we could easily upgrade a remote to work the Sankey, but we would need to know what the IR signal looks like beforehand. There are simply millions of possibilities that this device could be using, so it would be close to impossible to find the IR signal by trial and error.

Having said that, there is always the possibility that this player is a clone of another player. There are a large number of Chinese players that are all clones of each other (eg, Raite, Yamakawa, Topai, etc) and they all respond to the same remote control codes. Can you tell if this player is really from Panama, is there any info printed on it that might help?

Do you have the ability to take some pictures of it?

If you get yourself a JP1 remote and cable you could experiement with some existing DVD codes to see if there's a match.

Well, in the box of the equipment says "SANKEY CORPORATION JAPAN" but the users guide, the low level programing of menus, and labels on the equipment are in spanish language. But I think that is an asian brand, ensambled in some place of LatinAmerica. If I can take some photo Ill send it. The other option is open it, take note about the built-in components and know the procedence of the equipment... If I can find out anything, I will comunicate that. thanks again

Rather than open it up, etc which will yield limited results, your best bet is to make or buy a JP1 cable and get yourself a JP1 compatible remote (ie, most One For All or Radio Shack brand remotes). Then you can try upgrades for DVD players like the Raite, Apex, Daewoo, etc.
