None of the older codes seems to work.

Anyone have a source for Onkyo codes?

Have you checked the Remote ID on the receiver?

■ Remote ID
`1, 2, or 3
When several Onkyo components are used in the same
room, their remote ID codes may overlap. To differentiate
the AV receiver from other components, you can change
its remote ID from “1”, to “2” or “3”.
Note
• If you do change the AV receiver’s remote ID, be sure to change
the remote controller to the same ID (see below), otherwise, you
won’t be able to control it with the remote controller.
Changing the remote controller’s ID
1 While holding down RECEIVER, press and hold
down Q SETUP until the remote indicator lights
(about 3 seconds).
2 Use the number buttons to enter ID 1, 2, or 3.
The remote indicator flashes twice

Haven't tried that but I don't see that it should/would make a difference.

The OEM remote works, but it only has a toggle on/off and I need the discrete on/off commands for a URC MX900 remote.

Again:

The URC database doesn't have this AVR listed, and the codes that are in the database will not work.

I checked on the Onkyo support forums and got a reply stating that Onlyo doesn't have the TX-NR414 in their IR database. I asked for, but have not received, the IR codes for the TX-NR515 which MAY work.

Perhaps there's an equivalent Integra unit and those codes would work?

I am sorry that I did not understand your problem.  Here is the page link on Remote Central for the Hex codes for Onkyo.

This is what I have in my database.

Thanks,

I'll give those a try.

I got another reply from Onkyo on their support forums. Pretty sure they're just BS'ing....

Hopefully I can get this thing to respond to something before I have to replace it with something else and eat the cost....

Try the Integra Codes.  They'll typically work.

The new Onkyo NR Series has a random issue with some of the models power commands not working with universal remotes.  Onkyo has fixed most of these problems with the latest firmware updates.

I suggest you update the firmware (may take more than one to get up to speed), then re-check the discrete power commands again.
