Please, if anyone can help, I need a Viera cast code for a Pansonic Viera (new model). Don't have the remote and none of these databases out there seem to have it. I have Viera Link and Viera Tools, but need "Viera Cast".

If anyone has it in any way possible, Pronto Hex, URC, RTI, etc please let me know.

I have the Viera Cast from a Blu-ray Recorder but I don't know if it will work for Plasma's.

Viera Cast is Device Number 176.1 Function 89 for the Blu-ray Recorder but Panasonic Plasma's use Device Number 128, 128.1, 128.4 and 128.19 for their TV Functions and usually the Functions Numbers are the same for most Devices. I will give you some to try.

Thanks Jason - I was able to actually use an RTI learner and learned it in with an old Harmony remote I had. Well, at least it was good for something! Thanks anyway..

It might be an idea to put us all out of our misery and tell us which one of those codes it turned out to be, or post the Hex of what you found it to be?

I'm actually looking for this same code but dont have the RTI learner - is it possible for you to post/share your library that contains this code? I'm only using IR output and not RS-232 (and am a little too much of a lightweight on this subject to add that complexity in).

BlvJohn, these are interesting codes with new device codes, can I ask where did you get them and what else do you have?

Since you asked...

I learned all the codes from the Panasonic remote using an old Pronto and then found most of the discrete codes for Panasonic TVs through various posts and files on Remote Central. I also created a full set of clean codes for Panasonic devices 128.0, 128.4, and 128.9 using MakeHex and matched them to the appropriate device code and function supported by the TC-PCxxVT25 series. I identified a few additional codes by testing all the possible codes.

As near as I can tell there is no discrete for selecting the TV input. You can get there using a combination of "INPUT" and then "1".

Here are all the the clean discrete codes that I know. Caution !!! using the 'self check' code can reset your TV to the factory settings !!!

Well done. As far as I know the 128.9 device code is new and was not previously used, did you say you have checked all 255 codes in that set?
Makes you wonder if it's worth testing 128.5, 128.6 etc just in case there's codes
lying around that we just haven't found yet??

I was astounded yesterday when I went through the Mega library from Remote Central for RTI, RTI's own Master IR library, and some other posts from RC.com and found nothing for the VieraCast buttons. Maybe they're there, but for them to not be immediately obvious was quite a surprise.

And while I'm ranting, the spelling in these libraries alone is causing me to make my own library. 'Componant'?!? 'Descrete'? In RTI's own library! Too bad more people didn't have Mrs. Wimmer in sixth grade.
