I've seen numerous requests but no replies as of yet for discrete codes for the Samsung LTN LCD series of monitors. Specifically, power, input source & screen size are desirable. I've tried the discretes for the Samsung HDTVs in the discrete files section, to no avail.

Thanks
Andy

Why don't you post the Pronto hex for the Power Toggle. That will tell us the IR protocol and device being used and may allow an educated guess.

Sorry, but I don't know how I would get the Pronto hex for the power cable. I have the prontoedit software, but no pronto. I have the MX700/800 software and an MX800. Unfortunately, that is the depth of my knowledge.

It looks like the Samsung LCD's use the same commands NECx2:7 as the rest of the Samsung displays. I recently put together a list of all known discrete commands. The first column is OBC or Function, the second is EFC(aka Advanced Codes for OFA remotes):

New Commands from Samsung for New DLP's, PDP, and LCD's. The asteriks designate the ealier DLP's have the same commands--
027 251 Auto Wide RF1(TV)
067 171 Auto Wide DTV
077 040 IEEE 1394 1
083 107 Aspect Ratio (4:3) Zoom 1
105 073 VGA(PC) 1 *
132 188 Video 1
133 192 S-Video 1 *
134 190 Component 1
136 061 Component 2
138 063 DVI 1
139 067 HDMI 1
152 253 Power Off *
153 001 Power On *
225 209 Aspect Ratio (4:3) Zoom 2
226 207 Aspect Ratio (4:3) Panorama
227 211 Aspect Ratio (4:3) 4:3
228 204 Aspect Ratio (4:3) 16:9
229 208 Aspect Ratio (4:3) Auto Format
230 206 IEEE 1395 2
231 210 IEEE 1396 3
248 013 Video 2 *
249 017 Video 3 *
250 015 S-Video 2
251 019 S-Video 3
253 016 Component 3
254 014 HDMI 2
255 018 DVI 2

Older DLP commands--
067 171 Component 1
193 177 Video 1
194 175 S-Video 3
195 179 Component 3
251 019 S-Video 2
253 016 Component 2
255 018 DVI 1

An AVS forum user tried all the the commands anmd reported the following. A single asterisk is the same command in the top list a double asterisk is the same command as the older DLP--
105 073 PC input (VGA) *
152 253 Turned my set off *
134 190 Component 1 **
136 061 Component 2 **
001 185 S-video 2
002 183 Turned my set off
007 186 Vol +
011 059 Vol -
015 058 Mute
026 247 Menu
031 250 Info
032 213 PIP
040 085 Picture video mode (ie. dynamic)
043 091 Audio settings
062 022 Switch Aspect
066 167 Picture freeze
068 164 Favorite Channel
109 072 Dine off (or maybe toggle)
110 070 Turned my set off
122 007 VCR
123 011 CABLE
125 008 TV
126 006 DVD
127 010 STB
131 195 Video 1
140 060 DVI

I can send you a ccf file with all 256 commands. They are numbered by function 0-255 and correspond to the left most column. If you email at the address in my profile, I'll send it.

Use at your own risk since the commands may trigger a reset, get into a service menu and could require a factory service. Several people have tried all 256 commands and I haven't heard of any problems, but each model my do something different.

Please report what you find.

Thanks very much jarmstrong. I've got someone sending me the .mxd file with the codes as you describe. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to use the codes and numbers that you provided above. I wish there was a hex code, number code, pronto code tutorial somewhere so I could understand the use of all the different formats.

There isn't a good document that pulls it all together. But if your mxd file has functions 0 to 255 then just use the left most three digit numbers and that will tell you the known commands that correspond to those function numbers.

If not, you may want to get my ccf file and use MXEditor to convert. To do that you don't need to know anything about Pronto hex -- just try the commands.

Well well, well. I have a LTN325WX that I am setting up for a client. The LCD codes I have found didnt work. I was bummed. I went to change inputs on my samsung plasma, and lo and behold, the LCD switched too. Seems the codes are the same. I have posted my Samsung Plasma HPN6339 codes in the files section under the MX700 section. I think someone converted them to ccf and posted them in the right spot there. Certainly works for me, they should work for you too.

Good luck,

E. J.
