Have been searching for the discrete code for ON and for OFF for the Motorola cable converter. I found the following tag on the box - GI1109TB7437 - which may mean it is really a General Instruments unit. Several positng on this forum lead me to believe there may be a code for the GI but I can not find it. Have emailed companies with no help. Anyone have any suggetions?

By the way I am using the ProntoNeo.

Thanks
Steve

My Motorola cable converter uses a GI protocol. I searched for any command that wasn't on the orriginal remote and couldn't find any.

I think this cable converter is fairly configurable by the cable company, maybe to the point of having extra commands. But I doubt that you'll find a discrete on or off.

As delivered by AT&T (the cable company here), it is particularly user vicious and has made channel surfing too frustrating to bother with. Since getting it, I spend more time checking TV listings on the internet and programming VCR to capture any shows I watch, and I end up watching only those tapes and never watch anything while it's broadcast.

There is a list of EFC numbers for this cable converter at

JP1 tools could be used to covert those all to OBC numbers (I have the list already converted to OBC on my other computer) and my MakeHex program could be used to convert them all to Pronto Hex and/or convert all possible commands to Pronto Hex (if you want to tediously test for discretes).

However, my guess is that you won't find anything that wasn't on the orriginal remote.
