Hi guys
Before I start on know that the Hitachi TVs are on the toad list, but I still have to ask because of late I see that some people have come across disctrets for the toad Hitachi. I can live with the toggle power button but its a big problem with all of the equipment that I have to not be able to control (though a Macro) the video input on the tv. My tv code is 0145, the only discrete I really need is the video source discrete. I have tried the code 033 217 that HiFi-remotes shows but they didn't work. I really need your help if it is possible that a disrete is out there. Or some sort of walk around that I have not thought of. Again this is a Hitachi 50UX22BA rptv. Thanks guys.

If you have tried EFC 217, then you are stuck with a macro. I believe that ch+|video toggle will get you reliably to video1. The Ch+/- buttons always revert to Tuner.

Hi Jarmstrong
I'm new to this stuff and unsure of what you mean when you are discribing the ch+/- buttons. This is what I tried. I asigned the device code 0145 to tv on my radio shack 15-2103(To teach my mx-500 later),then programmed the EFC 217 to a button. Tried the new assinged button with no effect on the tv. Should I be doing something diffrent?

Oh I get it!
My noodle finally kicked in, you mean when the remote is set to tv no matter what video source the tv is on when you use the ch+/ch- the tv will switch the video source to ant. This happens every time and gives you a starting point that you can use in macros to have a known video input selection. Good walk around. I think thats what you where getting at, if not I just came up with my own solution.

Yes, that was it.

I used that for several years with a Toshiba and it is very reliable.
