I have the 36XBR800 HDTV. Has anyone had success finding the discretes for the following: (Progressive, Cinemotion) (Vivid, Standard, Movie, Pro)? These would be very helpful to make the remote more friendly.

This question has been asked before several places and I have not seen an answer. If you *really* want to find out for sure go here and look around:

[Link: anycities.com]

This is the best site for Sony commands. To create pronto hex, download John Fine's MakeHex form files|pronto|utilities|user programs or something like that. Read the readme device 1 is Sony12, the other devices are Sony15 for the TV.

Try every undefined command for devices 1, 164, 151, and 119. Device 3 is used in Europe for teletext commands.

Sony uses 5, 8, and 13 bit device codes and 7 bit commands so there are a total of 128 commands for each device.

Also, although I have not heard of a problem, it is possible that one of these undocumented commands will do a factory reset or wipe out an EEPROM necessitating a factory service call.

If you do find some new commands make sure you let us here and Rob [email protected] know what you found.
