I have a Panasonic E20 DVD recorder and a RP91 DVD player. Both players use the same 15-1994 set up code (0490) and discrete power on/off code. To get around the problem, I changed the remote setting of the E20 to '2' from one of the Panasonic Action Option. It works well but I can't use my MX-500 to turn on or off the E20 any more. Any suggestion to help me find the new setup or discrete On/off code for the E20 would be greatly appreciated.

jcdw71a, I have the same two pieces of equipment, and also switched the burner to code 2. I don't believe the E20 has discrete on/off codes, but the power toggle in Code 2 is:

G:Panasonic 48 Bit:()(0x40040D08BCB9)():3

In looking further on this site, the codes you want appear to be located at:

The code I gave you is the code used in the Harmony website for this operation.

HarmonyNut,
Thanks for the pointer. I really have to learn how to use the JP1 cable and 15-1994 to load the code. It seems to be a fun project for this weekend.

Thanks again, Ken

jcdw71a,

I was wondering if you had any luck decoding the discretes for on & off. I have a Denon 1600 (the MX-500 is on the way) and it uses the Panny set-up code of 0490.

The Denon is the only component that I can't find the discretes for and I'd like to be able to do macros on the new remote (the MX-500 is on the way).

I have the RS 2116 and know enough to use discretes & learn to the MX-500, but I don't have the techno skill to get at translating codes like Ken sent you.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ray
