A couple of months ago I posted that the DBSTalk.com staff was working closely with Dish Network to get them to add discrete HD/SD codes to their model 6000 receiver. I'm pleased to report that with the latest software revision (777p)that is downloading now to 6000 receivers Dish has added a discrete code workaround to provide discrete functionality to the HD/SD switch.

You can read the details at [Link: dbstalk.com]

Has anyone tried this? I went over to a buudy of mines house and his latest update was 776p and it said that there were no pending updates. I turned off the receiver for like 20 minutes and still no 777p. I would think that the update couldn't be that big could it?

I didn't check to see what update I had, but it does work with my 6000 as posted.
