I use a Harmony Ultimate remote and noted that using discrete power codes turn on ALL zones on my Denon 4520Ci receiver. I called Logitech, and they recommended changing to the zone power toggle commands.

I would think that might be more likely to wind up out of sync, since using toggle commands has this issue.

Are there not discrete power commands for each zone to avoid this issue?

If not.....is it better to use the zone toggle buttons for power, or the discrete? I assume I am not wasting much power if zone 2 is just my wireless headphones and zone 3 and 4 are not hooked up to anything.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There are discrete codes for each zone but they may not be in the Harmony database for your particular receiver. The Denon receiver IR codes are the same for almost all their receivers. You can try another Harmony Denon receiver setting
or send Harmony a request to add the codes.

Thanks, that was helpful.

I knew they had existed, since I vaguely remembered doing this years ago with my prior Denon receiver. I was not looking forward to the learning curve of using the JP1 software, which I seem to only use every 5-10 year....and I rememeber something about having to use 2 different pieces of software that were not self intuitive in the process. Funny, though, when I pulled out my old All for One remote to start the process.......and hit the audio button.......the M1 key already seemed to be programmed with this code......probably from my old Denon receiver. So all I had to do was learn this code to my Logitech remote, which took 5 minutes. Funny...when I called Denon this week for a different issue, I had asked the support person if these codes existed and he said NO. Go figure.

There is a spreadsheet with all the codes for your receiver that you can down load:
[Link: usa.denon.com]
For some reason it's downloading as a pdf but if you rename the file as a .xls it works fine.

I had been to the Denon site several times. The most recent several times I have tried opening the link to the download....all it did was open to a blank page. (Perhaps because it was in PDF format?)
