Hello Community,

I am new to the forums here and well, new to URC remotes in general! I am coming from a Logitech Harmony Elite with Hub. I became fed up with the lack of response/delays and inoperability with Logitech so I switched.

I’ve been researching different remotes a couple months ago and came across the URC remotes. From what I have read, they are well liked and recommended by a lot of folks. I contacted a local dealer and purchased a “used” MX-980 remote at the beginning of this week. The dealer also provided me with the Stand alone editor and CCP.

I did some research online (and in this forum) and it seems many folks are having issues with Philips TV. Last week, I purchase a 75” Philips 4K HDR Smart TV (75PFL6601) and I am having trouble switching between HDMI inputs and turning on and off the TV (all this was with the Logitech remote).

Going through the CCP manual and setting up the MX-980 remote, I see there is a similar issue with this remote? When setting up the IR data, I select “Philips” and “75PFL6601”, however, there are no discrete functions for On/Off and HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3 and HDMI 4. Is this still the case, or has someone been able to program their remote with CCP to turn on/off the Philips TV and switch between HDMI inputs?

If not, is there another way around this to program the remote or am I just SOL with Philips TV and possibly consider returning it for another brand?

Thanks for reading my lost post. I would appreciate any guidance/advice.

P.S. if someone has their remote setup with a similar Philips model to work correctly, would you mind sharing your setup file?

Thank you Davbejs. The only codeset I would use is the "LCD Discretes"? There would be no need to ad the 75PFL6601 code set to the remote, correct?

I just tested the "LCD Discretes" and it does not work for me. I guess I am SOL? Any other suggestions?

Are you testing the codes line of sight or do you have one of the URC MRF controllers? Whenever you do a code test you always want to do it line of sight.

I tested it in line of sight (standing in front of the TV). I downloaded the setup to the remote and stood in front of the TV.

Here is the setup I have for my remote. The top left power button turns on the TV, receiver, and cable. However, the commands won't turn on TV or change the input.

When you say "downloaded the setup to the phone", I don't understand. Have you tested using the MX980?
And again, do you have an MRF? Best practice is to create a Macro "device" and link (or alias) the buttons on your home page to the macros instead of embedding your commands directly into the buttons.

My apologies, I typed the wrong word. It was supposed to be remote, not phone. After I created the macros for each activity, I then downloaded the configuration to the remote. I stood in front of the devices (all are in line of sight), but the Philips commands were not working.

However, I changed the 'TV' device to the actual model number (75PFL6601) and it turns on and off, but cannot change inputs. I wonder if the 'LCD Discrete' codes don't work for my version?

No, I do not have an MRF base station, since everything is in line of sight. Is one still needed?

Yes, I did setup an 'Activity' and 'Devices' Page. The first two screenshots show my 'Activities' page with the macro's for "Watch TV" and "Watch Apple TV". The third screenshot shows my 'Devices' page.

In general, did I setup up the pages/macro's correctly? If not, are you able to give me some advice on how to restructure it or point me in the right direction? This is my first time working with this software, so I am still learning it.
