I need a skip button for a Comcast x1 dvr on a universal remote, I can get it on the x1 remote but have no way to learn it into the universal remote (mx900)

Yes you do, MX900 has learning capabilities.

yes i know it does but the x1 remote is not firing off an ir code only rf so it cannot be learned.

If I remember correctly, if you unpair the Comcast remote, then it will send IR.

To unpair, hold down setup until the top light turns green and hit 987
