I'm trying to find a one-touch way to add 30 minutes (or some other interval) to the sleep timer.
All of my previous Sony TVs have had this. I have a new Samsung UN49KS8000 which has a maddening sequence of key-presses required just to turn on/off the sleep timer. I'm using a comcast universal remote (URC), and the samsung TV code is 0702. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Try the following:
Sleep Timer: 0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AB 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0689

Sleep Mode: 0000 006D 0000 0022 00AA 00AA 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 003F 0014 070A

Edit:I re read that you are using a Comcast remote.
I take it that there is no ability to add a code in hex format.

mrfreeze, thanks for your help. yeah, your edit is correct, i can't add a code in hex format.
I need a 3 digit code, similar to the ones listed here:

Even though that post shows "sleep" as being code 187, that code does not work on the new Samsung TVs. Many of the other codes in that post do work, but not the sleep timer.
Any other advice would be much appreciated.

mrfreeze's codes in EFC format are:

Sleep Timer 168 (same as Rewind in your linked post)
Sleep Mode 187 (same as Sleep in your linked post)

If all else fails, you can simply try every possibility (00000-00255) by tapping Setup followed by the 5 digit code. Usually takes me about 15 minutes to get through all 256 once I get a good rhythm going.

All my other sources show 187 as the correct Sleep code. Are you using the full 5 digits (00187)?

It's possible that there is no working sleep code for this model.

yeah, i tried both 168 and 187, and yes, I'm using the full 5 digits. Looks like there might be no working sleep code for this model, which kind of sucks, and seems to be a design flaw on Samsung's part. In an attempt to make their new remotes more fancy and minimal, they have introduced complex sequences of menus and button-pushes. Something like "sleep", is something i want to do in one button push while drowsy and not in the mood to pay attention to a maze of menus. I just found a thread where others are complaining about this (see link below). If by chance anybody from Samsung is paying attention, it would be great to see a software update that changes this.

Hi! Did you every resolve the issue with the sleep function/key? I'm having the same issue, can't believe a sleep key can't be used with this TV.

nope, never resolved it, and manually tried every code to no avail.
I also swapped emails with Samsung tech support who was of no help.
I found many other flames out there in searching the web, people unable to believe Samsung would mess this up. Looks like we have to wait for a future product release and hope that they realize their mistake.

Hi, sorry to hear that. It's unbelievable. And in your tests did you find the code for the home button in the new smart remote?
