Just got a new Vizio E55-D0 TV and am looking to try and get the discreet codes for the inputs, so I don't have to go thru the input cycle.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you try the universal Vizio Discrete codeset? What remote are you using?

Haven't had to update my remote so I am out of practice. I will search for those.

Well I got most of them, but the selection for Cast, the Google Cast input on the new Vizios is not in there by default. Any idea if this one is available?

If it exists, some educated guesses would be OBC 239, 133-136, 162-164.

Pardon my ignorance on this one, but how would I go about trying out those code suggestions?

Depends on what remote you have. If it takes pronto hex, then generate them with IRScrutinizer. If JP1, use Remote Master.

Then use option 1 and email to [email protected] . I suspect that may be over the head of a harmony user (no offense), so here are the codes to try, already generated. My guess is the command does not exist, but these codes are the best candidates if they do.

As always, when testing undocumented codes, be prepared for strange things to happen, like resets and service mode commands which could render your TV reset to defaults or worst case, inoperable. Very small risk, but wanted you to be aware. I've done brute force code tests like this for nearly 20 years on many brands and never had a problem. But TVs like Sharp can get stuck in the infamous "evil k" mode if you send the wrong command.

If you want more to try, use any OBC code 0-255 which is NOT on this list:

In IRScrutinizer, use Protocol NEC1, Device 4 (Function = OBC).

For the record, tests like this are much easier on a JP1 remote like the Nevo C2 ($16 on ebay and functionally equivalent to a Harmony One). You can enter any code into a JP1 remote without emailing support or generating the pronto hex. All you need is the OBC, protocol, device and subdevice.

Here's everything you'd ever want to know about the Nevo:

I had a pronto in years past so I have some experience with the hex code. I will try out your suggestions.

Did you have any luck with these? I'm also looking for a discrete code for the CAST input. Also, have you been able to find discrete codes for the picture modes (calibrated, calibrated dark, standard, vivid, etc)?

Got busy at work and this went on the back burner. I am going to give it a try soon.
