I have a Sony RM-LV600 but I'm finding no way to select HDMI1 / HDMI2 / AV etc. on my LG 47LS600. If there are discrete codes, how would I get them to the remote, or is this a lost cause?

Only way to get discrete commands into the rm-vl600 is by learning from another remote, sorry. Look for RCA RCRP05BR, or older ONE-For-All model 8820n or 10820n.
Do you have cable box oem remote in the house? If so whats model?
