I did an install yesterday using Samsungs UN40JU7100 and couldn't get the discreet power on and off to work. I could see the red led on the tv blinking, but it wouldn't turn on or off.

Are there new codes?

Another weird thing was that if we held our hand over the stock remote control, the TV would still register the "Pointer". The "pointer" is like the WII remote and that you can point and move this over the screen. I don't think its IR because we blocked the front of the remote, but we have no idea how Samsung does this.

Anyone have any ideas about the IR codes? Anyone have any insight to how this pointer works?

Jeff

I thought it was bluetooth.  Don't you have to pair that remote like you do with the Sony's?

No, didn't have to pair it.
Might be bluetooth.
I read another post about a samsung 40 inch 5300 series (I believe), he said he had troubles with discreet codes for that set.

Anyone have any ideas about where to get IR codes for these newer samsung TVs?

If you can't be good, be good at it.

I have this same TV, and did an update 2 days ago, the power seems to be resolved, but the input codes don't work correctly. HDMI 4 does not seem to do anything?
