It really is your first day! :)

Search the files section for discrete codes here at RC.

Search your libraries (Crestron, RTI, etc...)

Most can be found but someone keeping a specific list of all TV discrete power codes only in an unspecified format... not likely.

Yes I know it is an unlikely list but I was hoping someone may have it.
it is for a device to turn all TV's back on in a room after a power out situation as most TVs go to a default off state.

If there is someone out there with a list like this it would be much appreciated.

Is this for a retail outlet?

My best suggestion would be start building this list yourself. There are discrete libraries right here on remote central in the files section and...

You have not stated in what form you require these codes and/or for what system.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes it is a project for a TV shop that wants a device to turn on all the TV's on without having to find each brand of remote or push all the hard buttons on the sets. At night they can power off all the sets at the mains.

The codes will be programmed into a microcontroller with a IR led or an array of IR LED's with a button held down it will cycle through all the "power on" codes, I'm hoping just by waving the device around you could quickly turn all the TV's on.

HEX code would be appropriate.

Any help would be much appreciated and I will post any findings I have for anyone interested. I will start on the list.

most of the common brands can be found easily in the files section on this web site.

Well, if you want someone to do the work for you, you could at least list the BRANDS of TVs you have.  While there is a chance that the different model numbers within brands might have different codes, common makes of TV could mean just about anything, especially if you consider that you never established your country.

It might be easy to accept a "western view" and assume that you mean TVs from the Eastern / Asian (not sure the right PC term here) manufactures such as Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung, LG, Mitsubishi.  However, depending on what market share your shop is trying to capture, common brands might mean RCA, Vizio, Westinghouse, and others.

However, you might be European, and then some Loewe and others might be needed.

I have only just started to investigate the project so excuse me for the lack of info, it seems after doing a little research I have over simplified things.
I am in Australia, so 'common' would mean TV's that are used in this region, I have not collated a list but will get it together soon.
I realize now the list may spread over a few different protocols and modulation frequencies so the list will need to be separated into for example, NEC, RC5, Sony, etc.
I will need to define the modulation frequency, data format, and IR code for each common TV and then work out a way of outputting this data from a PIC microcontroller. Should be a fun task!

I will do a test with the 'very common' (here in Aust) brands first.

Sony
Samsung
Panasonic
LG
Toshiba
Mitsubishi
Phillips
Sharp
Sanyo
Hisense
Kogan

Then if all goes well I will work my way through this list.
