Hi,

Hope this is the right place for this. I found the manual and IR codes for my LG TV, my just can't get my head around how to write the HEX code. Wanting to do input selection (HDMI1, 2 etc.). It's on page 113 of the manual here: [Link: lg.com]

How would this be written out in Hex please? My brain just can't get around it!

Thanks in advance. :)

The IR codes are on page 107.  Page 113 lists RS-232 codes.  Since your manual doesn't list any discretes in the IR table, it's possible that your TV doesn't have them, but it is certainly worth trying the IR codes listed on page 4 in ExternalControl.pdf.  To convert these to Pronto Hex, get IrScrutinizer, select NEC1 on the Generate tab, enter 4 into the D field, leave S blank, and enter e.g. 0xCC for HDMI2. That should yield:

0000 006C 0022 0002 015B 00AD 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 05F7 015B 0057 0016 0E6C

Page 107 of the manual lists the codes in commands in short hex format, but doesn't give you any indication of the device number or subdevice number, which makes the codes useless unless you have an OEM remote or a knowledge of LG codes.

LG hasn't changed their code set in some time, so if your device accepts discretes, they will be in this post, which is about 4 posts down from this one.
