Hello,

Just got an MX-500 and am impressed and at the same time overwhelmed with its abilities. I started programming the remote over the weekend and, like most everyone, found that I need some discrete codes for my equipment. Here's a list of what I want to control with the MX-500:

Mitsu WS-46809 TV
Mitsu DD-8020 DVD Player
Sony SAT-HD200 DirecTV Receiver
JVC HR-S5900U VCR
Teac AG-D8900 AV Receiver <-- I believe this is the same as AG-D9260. The D8900 is a COSTCO exclusive.

I got some help for the 46809 at hometheaterspot.com and found quite a bit here about the lack of discretes for the HD200. I have not been able to find any information on the other pieces of hardware I own.

Also, I think the codes I found for the HD200 are for the Pronto remotes and I'm not sure how to convert these for the MX-500

Any help would be greatly appreciated and a big Thanks in advance.

Thomas

thomastmo,

How are you planning to get the discretes into the MX-500?

To elaborate on Ron's question, do you plan to use an OFA/RS remote, or IR-Clone, or a JP1 remote, or some other technique to get discrete codes into your MX-500? Finding the codes you need is only half the work.

If you don't recognize any of these things then you need to do a lot of reading on this forum, on www.hifi-remote.com, and on www.irclone.com.
