I managed to find these in the Sony Projector Discretes section (I didn't know this section existed).
It says these are Phillips Pronto Hex.  Can they be pasted into MX Editor directly for use by an MX-850?

After 2 calls and 4 emails I got this back from Sony. Can someone convert it to hex for an Mx-850?

To generate the SIRCS code:

Generate 3 frames each frame 75 cycles of 600ysec = 45msec
Format:
GuidePulse + Command Code (7 bits) + category Code (8 bits)

Command Code Power On = hex 2E
Command code Power Off = hex 2F
Category Code for Projectors = hex 54

Note: The code is written out in reverse, 2E = 101110 but to send it you would use: 0111010

Power On: Guidepulse + 0111010 + 00101010
Power Off: Guidepulse + 1111010 + 00101010

Sorry I missed this post earlier in the week. I could have had these to you in a few minutes. It's much quicker than calling Sony. :-) Tell me if these work. Use universal browser in CCP or stand alone 850 editor. Click the hex button. Paste into field. Drag and drop onto buttons. These are actually from the URC database.

Thanks for the codes. I hope to start the installation today so I may not get back to you very fast. Don't know if I'll get it installed and the 850 programmed today.

Sony is unbelievable. I had 1 rep that didn't know what I was talking about and just hung up, others said codes don't exist, 1 said that I didn't need any codes because the remote controlled the projector.

One email said I needed to follow a link and specify the country I was in because they only handled America - the form I filled out included my address :) which was Tennessee. Then I got an email with what I posted above. Got another email later that has code protocols, etc but no pronto style hex formats.

Last email from Sony yesterday pointed me back to Remote Central to this thread :) and said they could not guarantee that these codes work.

Well. Thanks for the buzz Sony. :-). Hilarious.

Would you mind posting the link to that protocol sheet Sony sent you. That will actually tell us a lot. And we can likely generate all codes from it rather than hazing to x-learn from a database that may or may not be accurate.

Ran into a snag yesterday and still don't have PJ installed. Doubt I'll finish today as no 110 or HDMi cables there yet. There isn't a link, they were files. PM sent

Well, pj is still on the floor. I had to layout a 8X24 board with mounting holes to mount across 2 joists and add holes for the chief mount and then paint it. That is done and installed. I also got the power, cables and cable outlets installed

Hope to finish hanging pj and putting the screen together and hanging Saturday.  Then I can work on the remote.  I will definitely keep you informed.

Here is what I used for power, etc.

Well, these do work with the caveat that they should be learned to regular buttons and then on the "Power" (which I assume you meant to type Power Off), you have to add it to the macro twice. One iteration brings up the little menu that says to press power off again to turn off.

Thanks for your assistance.

This is often the case with projectors. A single power press turns the device on and a double press with a slight delay between is a power off.

As the guy that used to be the source of this info within Sony a few years back... well this just saddens me.
