Any particular codes you want for this model? I mean you could always search the sony master code list in the files section, but you are still having to test a bunch of hex, as it doesn't list model numbers.

I assume you want inputs and power. Do you need tuning as well? I doubt Sony changed their code set. I can almost bet the STR-DE197 codes will work for this. Anyway, which codes.

Long story, but I'm programming this remote for a system I will not see. That's why I want to be as accurate as possible with the codes.
Thanks,
On, Off, Tuner source, pre-sets and scanning up & down, TV, Volume + & -.

Thanks,
GP

Here's my struggle. I have commands for the STR-DH100 and the STR-DH520. Both are stereo receivers. Using crutchfield, I was able to find large pictures of the remotes controls so I could read their model numbers. They are different.

The 100 uses RM-aau055
130 = RM-aau130
520 = RM-aau104

I learned the bd/dvd code from the 100 & 520 comparing the hex codes and dropping it into IRScrutinizer to see if they are part of the same code set. The codes are identical. Protocol Sony20. Device 16. Subdevice 40. Obc 22.

Normally I'd throw some hex codes up, as we all familiar with how the good manufactures (thank you Sony) don't rapidly change their code set (sometimes for decades). Because you won't be able to have access to the device, I feel a little more hesitant with this, because as usual, I would have to test the codes to be certain. And these are near models. The other challenge is that my code set in my DB has lots of codes for HDMI and triggers listed for these receivers, which clearly doesn't make any sense. Maybe they are just part of that same Sony code set that perhaps is shared with other Sony devices. So here's hoping these codes work for you and Sony didn't change their backend hex from the 100 to the 130.

For the most part, these codes are protocol Sony15, Device=48, Obc=34.

Do you have a Best Buy local? I just searched their website, and the STR-DH130 is a current. These could easily be loaded into a pronto and tested at your local big box.

I took these codes and tested them on a STR-DH130. Here is what works:

Input: BD/DVD

SAT/CBL

(Note on the volume commands. They are incremental. They only increase the volume one number at a time and press and hold (at least from my learned code shooting of the pronto) still only go up one at a time. Press and hold is no different.

I would have done a direct remote learn, but my local big box didn't even have this component plugged into an outlet, much less have a remote out. Find me a place that has that receiver, and I will grab the rest of the codes for you.

3-2-2014 Update
(Added Sat/Cbl input command in list above and the following codes below).
Note: These codes were learned from a Sony RM-AAU168 remote. This is the OEM for the STR-DN series receivers, as the OEM for the DH was not available. The following codes below worked on the receiver requested by the OP.

Note: I don't know if that code above is just short or if it doesn't have repeats. I'd swear it was a bad learn, but I learned from an OEM into the pronto then fired it right back. It's confirmed.

Note: The up and down keys from navigation allow you to shift balance left to right. I did not learn these keys, as I imagine they are common among Sonys.

Great info guys. Love the big box suggestion. Can't wait to see the look on the kids face as I stand in front of one of his receivers with an RTI T2B, then ask to see the original remote.

I'll get back with the results. Thanks so much.

I'd like to approach this a little differently. I had been trying codes from several databases just to see what works. By using the RM-AAU188 Sony remote (which is NOT the OEM), I was able to find codes that the unit would respond to.

Using IRScrutizer, I learned that these codes were P=Sony15 d=48.
Using MakeHex, I generated the full code list for device 48.
Using IRPanel, I copy/pasted the generated list to create a pronto file.
Using ProntoEdit4 and a TS1000, a modified 3.5mm to DB9 (to replace my broke cable as discussed in that sub- forum) I was ready to go.

Not having the OEM remote, I don't know if I just got lucky and the the STR-DH130 responded to d=48 codes and is really d=176 or vice-versa.

I did not explore the full 176 code set when I had already found all the functions I needed.

Then there is the matter of this code:

p=Sony20 d=16 subd=40 obc=22

Discrete Input: BD/DVD

This could be a bad x-learn that IRScrutinzer doesn't like or just another lucky moment that the equipment responded to this code. I do not know enough about the different Sony protocols to really make an assessment.

I hope this helps someone. It wasn't until this very weekend I understood how combine the different tools listed above to be able to generate, populate, and download a full code set for testing.

7-8-2014 Update

7-9-2014 Update

Sorry to anyone in the future who reads this post.  I am updating as I go and as I learn (both actually learn remote codes from OEM and actually learn more and more information).  The codes are there, you just have to trust them (and read through LONG posts).

I am using several of these on a project. would you have the discrete codes for speakers A on/off speakers B on/off. there is no button(s) for this on the factory remote. there is a button on the front panel to toggle Speakers A on, B on , A off , B off. would there even be IR codes?

There might be codes. Without knowing the exact model number of the unit you are working with, it is hard to tell you what does do / might exist. Whats your model #?

The Sony STR-DH130

That's the model in question in this post?

I generate the full list of commands from that protocol and device and fired them one at a time at that Sony Receiver. What I posted above was what codes the device responded to. Unless this receiver supports codes from a different code set (Which might be possible) then they don't exist. You'd have to find a different speaker a / b hex from another model and try it.
