I've been posting a lot of Sharp LCD codes that I have been using on various programming jobs, along with a host of other codes for people trying to control a particular model.

I checked these codes against almost 15 separate Sharp TV's of various series lines. I took the existing codes I had, dumped them into a pronto and shot them at TV's at my own showroom and two local large electronics companies. The following is what I can personally confirm works.

The following TVs are covered under the set of discretes I will post:

LC-90LE657u
LC-60LE650u
LC-70LE650u
LC-60LE847u
LC-60LE757u
LC-70UD1U (4K)
LC-70LE755u
LC-60LE755u
LC-C46700un
LC-C52700un

(10/2014 edit)

Confirmed for

LC-70UQ17U (and associated 2014 4k, pseudo-4k serires)

From what I can surmise, TV's above 60 inch in the LE650 line or above will all respond to these codes. This includes the series 650,657,757,847,755 and others. Each responded to both the primary and ALT set of discrete inputs, though the smart TVs (4k, 755 series, and others) will not go to the discrete input unless something is plugged into it. The display will display "Input not available) or something of the sort.

The inputs are as listed.

1-4 = HDMI 1- 4
5 = Component
6 = Video (Composite) 1
7 = Video (Composite) 2
8 = PC

On the LCC series, the inputs are slightly varied. Inputs 5-8 = HDMI 1-4, but that is just how that model line called inputs. Calling Input 8 takes you to HDMI 4, if that makes sense. Now the confirmed codes, though they have been posted else where.

The following commands are confirmed to work with the TV's listed below.

LC-50LB150u
LC-42LB150u
LC-32LB150u

These are all within the same series lines.  I was not able to find a full discrete set for them, as I wasn't looking.  These are the basic (read: entry level) Sharp LCDs.  I shot codes at them to see how they responded. (If I accidentally copy/pasted the wrong codes, they correspond to Input 2, Input 3, and Input 5 of the discretes listed above.  They don't respond to the alt commands. (Or I got it backwards in my notes and the respond to alt, but not the other).  Discrete Power are the same.

Regarding the 50 inch series TVs:

LC-50LE650u
LC-50LE550u

There have been numerous posts, in particular regarding the 550 series 50 inch.  I slummed into my local Sears and compared the 60 in 650 series next to the 50 in 650 series.  They are extremely dissimilar.  Many of you have been doing installs / programming for years, so you know that models within the same series lines often share the same parts, chasis, or at very least have a uniformity to their body, design, button placement, back panel.  This is NOT true for the 650/550 line.  The 60 inch versions look like any other modern Sharp Aquous Panel.  The 50 inch does not.  The chasis and frame are different, the button placement is on the opposite side.  It's completely different than its 60 inch contemporary within the same series line.  And it responds TOTALLY different to IR commands.  At my best summation, it's board, components, or IR receiver are totally different, and therefore its code set is different.  I am not confident that discrete power even exists for it.  Better pull out your variables or a/c voltage sensors.  Here is what did work:

HDMI 2

These of course correspond with Inputs 2,3,8 from above.  Here is where things get weird.  The P-Off Hex string from above sends the TV to Component/AV Input.

Component / AV

0000 0068 0020 0000 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 0049 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 06c9 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 001f 000b 0049 000b 0049

That is far as I can take it. I don't have these TVs available in my showroom to test more.  Maybe someone can take the codes I've posted and run in through IRScruntizer to get a more full set for the 50 in 650/550 lines and the LB150 lines.

I hope this answers some questions and helps some people out with the current Sharp Line.  As you can see, the codes do work for the newest 4k TV (UD1U series) and are likely the most modern codes until Sharp changes something again.

Using IR Scurtinizer on both this post and this:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

We find that the commands are Sharp (duh) and are either device code one or device code 17. Even the codes that I learned from the UD1U remote shows two different codes sets, which I have not quite figured out yet.

Knowing the device codes, it would be easy to generate all 255 commands for each.

Could a mod please tell me what was in this post before it was edited? I have been searching for discrete power commands for the last 2 days and it's very frustrating to find a bunch of links to this post which has been sabotaged.

Same here - POWER OFF for the provided codes does not work for me, nor do any of the POWER OFF commands for any Sharp TV in my entire database. Anyone know what the deal is?

The panel inside (and even the chasis) of the 660-650 are different from their higher end models.  Unfortunately, you didn't buy the highend model.  One of the various ways sharp saved money (and you saved money) is that your picture quality isn't as good, and your tv doesn't except discretes.  I have spent more time than you can imagine on these TVs, which I don't even carry.  Go high end or go rs232.

Did the "Power On" hex code work?  you only mention power off.

Depends on the model.

The LE550 and LE650 are junk.  Sharp screwed everyone and there are no discretes.

The 660 does seems to have some discretes. I can switch to analog, USB and component inputs, so there must be discrete codes for HDMI inputs. The working codes I've found show input 5 as component, 6 as analog, and 7 as USB. Unless Sharp purposely removed codes for USB, those HDMI codes have to be out htere somewhere.

Just because the set has "some" discretes doesn't mean it has "all" discretes.  That's a bit of a far leap.

I can tell you that I spent an extensive amount of time on these codes, that I tried 512 different codes on roughly 15+ different model TVs to determine the list that is above.

Those Power On/Off commands are the same codes... so you shouldn't even bother calling them Power On and Power Off... Just put one and call it Power Toggle.

did you ever find the codes you needed? I'm surprised that a Sharp set would lack discretes!?
