I have the model R-S300 stereo from yamaha. I also have an iTach device with an IR learner. Every code this damn thing learns is incorrect and does not work, i am about to just say screw it and return everything.
I am so beyond frustrated with this home automation project i literally want to puke;
Does anyone on this board have working codes for the iTach for the RS300, and a complete code set for the Panasonic UT50 tv? i have seen some codes for the tv but still there are important buttons and functions missing.
Not sure why the learner doesnt work, really really frustrating. Maybe one of you with better equipment will decode my remote? lol
im at a loss without scrapping the whole fricking project and getting my money back all around on all the devices i bought.
I just got my new itach today. I was using the iLearn software. Not only is it annoying to have your itach on the network when it is being powered by usb, but how can it take in a solid IR code when (A) the port is nearly blocked (B) it's directly next to power cord and (C) the power, ethernet, and rs232 lights are also flashing.
I learned some codes into it and had it give it to me as hex. Is it RAW or pronto? I didn't dig too deeply. I can tell you that all the codes I learned into it, when copy/pasted into another piece of software absolutely did not work. So far, I am unimpressed. I know GlobalCache comes in handy, particularly with ELAN or NAD (who FINALLY put ethernet on their models), but it looks and feels cheap, and its hex have been useless.
My pronto finally stopped learning IR codes tonight, which leaves me the choice of my equally crappy ELAN learner that consistently produces broken/scrambled/messed up preamples resulting in double code presses or my speaker craft learner that takes 10 button presses (in software) to produce a learned code, and STILL doesn't show you hex unless you copy to clipboard.
Pronto had it figured out way back in 1998 with the TS1000. Lucky I have a back up or three.
